People from all over Michigan and the rest of the country come to Charlevoix because it is a beautiful town that has a lot of fun events every year. Moreover, people who want a “home away from home” experience while visiting Charlevoix can stay at the Pointes North Inn boutique condotel. It’s in the heart of the city’s charming downtown.

People who come to Charlevoix want to know about some of the fun things that happen in the summer and fall so that they can plan their trip better.

Summer: Raise a Glass at the Charlevoix Craft Beer Festival

Michigan is getting swept up in the craft beer craze at a very fast rate. Beer lovers don’t have to drive around “The Mitten” to visit all the best breweries. Instead, they can go to the Charlevoix Craft Beer Festival on June 13, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Furthermore, you can try a wide range of beers, from lagers to IPAs, and from sour beers to stouts (and more) with local food and live music. People go to downtown Charlevoix every June for this annual event, which takes place on the second Saturday in June at a beautiful waterside venue.

Enter the Charlevoix Marathon in June

During your trip to Charlevoix, you might want to do some exercise. In the summer, many people think the Charlevoix Marathon is the best. A half-marathon or a 5K are two options for people who want to run in the event. There is a ceremony after the race in which awards and medals are given out. The course is very good. It doesn’t matter if visitors want to run the race or cheer on the athletes. The Charlevoix Marathon is a great way to meet new people and have a lot of fun. Many people who run the marathon should also stay for the food afterward. Don’t forget to buy a t-shirt from the marathon!

The race starts in downtown Charlevoix at 6:04 AM on June 20 and ends at 1:05 PM the same day.

Charlevoix Summer Merchant Open House

If you love shopping for unique items at low prices, then you should go to Charlevoix on June 11 for the Summer Merchant Open House. It runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Participating stores and restaurants open their doors to visitors for the open house. They give visitors special deals, snacks, refreshments, prize drawings, and more when they do this. This event is very popular with families because it has something for everyone.

Enjoy Free Summertime Music at Live on the Lake

Annual summer events like Living on the Lake, which is a free music festival that takes place on Thursdays, are popular with many people. There are many bands from different genres at the festival, which is held every Thursday. This music festival is great for families and groups of friends. It starts on June 25 with the country music band Stone and ends on August 20 with the folk/pop singer Matt Gabriel. It’s all free.

Fans of music can choose from a variety of concerts between the opening and closing dates. They can go to see reggae and other types of music as well as traditional rock, jazz, blues, and chill folk music. We suggest picking up some tasty local food from one of the many restaurants in the area to set up a perfect picnic while you enjoy the music and the beautiful lake. This way, all of your senses are happy!

Fall Events Begin with the Boyne City Hall Harvest Festival

Active senior couple on a walk on a beautiful fall day

The Boyne City Hall Harvest Festival is about 17 miles from Charlevoix. Visitors who stay with us at the start of the fall season are often seen at the Boyne City Hall Harvest Festival. When Charlevoix City Hall wants people to know about upcoming seasonal events, they include this one. People enjoy driving along US-31 on the beautiful banks of Horton Bay. A lot of people who go on this drive enjoy the beautiful fall colors of crimson, bronze, and gold that cover the trees. They stop to take pictures with their families on the waterfront.

Once visitors get to the harvest festival, they can do a lot of fun things for kids, listen to music, make crafts, buy local fall produce, and more. Boyne City also has a farmers market on Water and Lake Streets where visitors can buy apples from local farmers as well as pumpkins and other fall vegetables. They can also buy apple butter, honey, cinnamon, and cider. Visitors from Charlevoix who are staying at the Pointes North Inn can bring back any food items they bought from the more than 30 arts and crafts vendors at the festival. They can also refrigerate their food until they are ready to go home.

Boyne City Hall is holding a Harvest Festival on September 26 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This gives visitors a few more hours of light to enjoy their drive back to Charlevoix before the sun sets at 7:30 PM.
